The Project Manager has the primary role responsible for the Civil Project. The Project Manager is responsible for representing the firm with owners, architects, and consultants on any range of activity and detail related to a specific construction project so they should excel in communication and public relations and have complete knowledge of the project. They are responsible for the project Budget and ensuring legal and contractual compliance so they will have a strong sense of risk management and discretion to help safeguard Faber, its clients, and contracting partners.
The Project Manager is the leader of the Administrative Project Construction Team assigned to a project that includes the Superintendent, Project Engineer, and Project Coordinator. They will need to provide leadership and direction to the rest of the Team so they must have a good understanding of each of the team roles. They will also be comfortable with decision making and problem solving and be able to do these things at a fast pace. The Project Manager will have the disposition to work with a variety of people and be able to navigate team dynamics. They are expected to train and delegate tasks to the Project Engineer, so it is important they have the knowledge and willingness to teach and mentor.

- Project Management (Project Specific):
- Responsible for the successful completion of all aspects of an assigned project.
- Work with Executive and Project Coordinator (PC) to complete all requirements for project Contract Execution.
- Complete review and knowledge of project plans and specification (including any unique technical or legal/administrative aspects).
- Create and maintain project schedule.
- Create and maintain project budget.
- Represent Faber to Owner/Architect and all other partners throughout project duration.
- Maintain good relationships: professional, knowledgeable, and cooperative.
- Advocates for company when needed and looks for future opportunities.
- Provide information for State public work requirements (e.g., classifications to be used on project).
- Solicit pricing and select subcontractors/suppliers for various scope of work needed; send Letters of Intent if applicable.
- Manage/oversee submittals and submittal process.
- Assist with and oversee RFIs and RFI process.
- Request subcontracts/purchase orders to be issued; review and countersign returned Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.
- Review and approve all invoices, receipts, and expense reports related to the project.
- Review all project record information and photos daily.
- Determine billing amount for monthly Owner pay application/invoice.
- Price and prepare Change Order proposals for the Owner.
- Attending all owner meetings and speaking knowledgeably to any aspect of the project.
- Host regular Project Team meetings with Superintendent, Project Coordinator, Project Engineer.
- Manage/oversee close out process and all close out documentation requirements.
- Project Management (General):
- Familiar with public contract work process (invitation to bid through notice of completion).
- Reviews and understands Faber Subcontract language and requirements.
- Supports and uses approved company systems, policies, and procedures to manage projects.
- Bid Administration and Project Procurement:
- Maintains relationships with past business partners and clients for procuring future work.
- Provides estimating leadership and support as requested.
- Represents clients in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or similar.
- Minimum of five years’ related experience in residential and/or commercial projects.
- Proven experience as a civil project manager.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
- Superior management and delegation capabilities .
- High level of financial responsibility .
- Excellent resource planning and time management skills.
- PMP Certification a plus.
- Compliance and knowledge of all Labor and Industries laws and policies.
- Physical Ability:
- Able to perform tasks for all aspects of a construction project including lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs. for 50 ft, climbing a ladder: and working in various weather conditions.

Civil Superintendent
A Civil Superintendent performs complex supervisory, administrative, and professional work in planning, organizing, directing, and supervising job sites.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Communicate clear work instructions, both written and oral.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Study and standardize department policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
- Prepare composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
- Adjust errors and complaints accordingly and calmly.
- Prepare and document budget requests; administer budget in assigned area of responsibility.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, supervise and evaluate programs, plans, services, staffing, equipment, and infrastructure on job sites.

- Review subtrade list and provide e-mail short term schedules to subtrades. Ensure subtrades are contacted ahead of work to be performed and daily to maintain the schedule as needed.
- Review schedule and plans for upcoming jurisdictional or design team inspections. Call for inspections in a timely manner so as not to impede job progress or scheduled activities.
- Establish a quality control plan. Walk the job site to recognize defects. Document and report defects to the applicable parties as needed.
- Fill out and submit Extra work Authorization forms daily and document as needed.
- Maintain site Erosion Control. Establish an erosion control plan and follow all SWPP rules as needed.
- Maintain Record Document plans and specifications. Produce As-built drawings as needed.
- Review Staffing needs. Look at schedule and tasks to perform and plan for manpower needs as needed. (Coordinate with the Senior Superintendent)
- Review Documentation such as RFI’s, CCD’s, ASI’s, and other job directives as needed. Plan, distribute, and execute direction given by the design team in cooperation with the Project Manager.
- Weekly review the budget. See how labor and materials are tracking. Coordinate information with the Project manager.
- Prepare for job meeting by having intimate knowledge of the plans and specifications, by being well versed in the current site activities, and complete understanding of the 3-week schedule.
- Total involvement with training and development of field personnel as assigned.
- Supervise employees on a day-to-day basis on specific projects.
Required Education:
- High school diploma and bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering preferred
- Proficient with Excel/MS Office, Adobe, Blue Beam, and MS Project
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a construction superintendent
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of projects

We currently have a position available for a full-time Payroll Administrator at our corporate office located at 6951 Hannegan Rd, Lynden, WA. The position is responsible for payroll for over 150 employees and assisting the Controller with projects as needed.
Salary for this position is $25-$30 per hour depending on transferrable skills and experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Process weekly payroll for 150+ employees.
· Reviews payroll documentation for accuracy through audit reports and makes any necessary adjustments. Obtains necessary approvals.
· Prepares and submits Certified Payrolls.
· Prints, sorts, and distributes payroll checks.
· Reviews and computes wages and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings. Ensure that all changes to payroll are processed correctly.
· Review and audit master file and pay data entries, YTD totals, and file amendments.
· Prepare various payroll and management reports, journal entries, and reconcile quarterly payroll taxes.
· Process accurate and timely Quarterly and year-end reporting when necessary (940,941, L & I, SUI, W-2, W-2c, ACA, etc.)
· Will handle all garnishments, levies, child supports and vacation/sick accruals.
· Responds to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters.
· Maintains confidentiality.
· Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management, including audit assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of high school graduate, some college preferred, with at least 3 years of payroll experience preferably in the construction industry. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
· Multi-state payroll experience a plus.
· Demonstrated time-management and organization skills to manage priorities and meet strict deadlines, while working in a team environment required
· Strong ability to interface with all levels of the organization required.

The Project Engineer role is mainly a support role, functioning as part of the Administrative Construction Project Team that includes the Project Manager, Project Coordinator and Superintendent. The Project Engineer’s responsibilities are a sub-set of the Project Manager’s responsibilities. This role is a step/building block towards becoming a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager, as such they need to be teachable, can take direction well and have a willingness to take on a variety of tasks based on need. The Project Engineer has contact with Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Owner/Architects on product and technical details of the project so they should excel in communication and have a good understanding of the Construction process. Being part of the project team means a Project Engineer will have good interpersonal skills, is able to work well with others, and has good understanding of the role of each team member.
- Bid Administration:
- Attending and photo-document Pre-Bid job walk-throughs as requested.
- Construction Project:
- Assist with pre-construction job set-up including, but not limited to, Division 01 document assembly, as requested.
- Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals, product samples and shop drawings.
- Receive, review, forward and track status of RFIs.
- Receive, review, forward and track status of design changes.
- Maintain project logs on company server and Procore.
- Assist with material pricing and procurement, as requested.
