Fire Station #18

The renovation of Fire Station 18, targeting LEED Gold status, was a virtual full gut and reconstruction of the existing building. The building had been retrofitted in 1998 and was not meeting current building codes. This project ensured the viability of the building during natural disasters by including structural upgrades and substantial improvements to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. Additions to the corners of the building provide expanded office, training, shop and storage space. Renovations to the building interior added single-occupant bunks for all station personnel, a secure lobby, and upgraded office and training facilities.
