Water Quality for Padden Estuary
Stormwater runoff, spills and urban pollutant loads had been flowing directly into the Padden Estuary in Fairhaven. Faber’s civil construction division installed a filtration system to treat stormwater runoff from 90 acres that flows into a 30″ diameter pipe discharging into the estuary. The stormwater enters pre-treatment facilities where sediment and debris are removed. Next, the main treatment vaults will remove pollution, and then the cleaned water flows into the Padden Creek Estuary. As a result this project greatly improves fish productivity and all around water quality in the estuary.
