Heavy Equipment Operator
Faber Construction is a growing dynamic company that provides site work construction services for an array of public, commercial and residential projects. Faber is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join the team on our public works and private projects.
The Heavy Equipment Operator will be required to dig around inner-city utilities, operate a variety of earthwork equipment while understanding production and grades. This position will also require the operator to perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
Duties & Responsibilities to include but not limited to below:
- Operates heavy equipment in a clean and efficient manner.
- Experience in the following heavy equipment operation is ideal:
- Front End Loader, Skid Steer, Dozer, Excavator. Truck Driving skills are a plus.
- Ensures health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Working knowledge of day-to-day construction site operations.
- Willingness to learn new procedures or tasks.
- Assures unit is never operated in an unsafe manner.
- Production driven.
- Must be willing to maintain equipment daily in addition to other duties.
- Follow good construction safety practices and following company code of ethics, policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand grade stakes.

Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Faber Construction is a growing dynamic company that provides site work construction services for an array of public, commercial, and residential projects. Faber is currently looking for Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join the team.
Qualified candidates must have at least 3 years of experience with earthmoving and construction equipment. Certification, dealer training and military experience a plus. Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic skills needed. Certified welding a plus. Class A Commercial Drivers License and Medical Card is required.
Employee will be required to use a vehicle to conduct business; you must possess and maintain a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL-A) and DOT medical certificate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- All tasks are normally performed in a mobile, field environment, and require daily driving to and from construction sites.
- Perform equipment diagnosis and repair. Tasks include repairing, replacing, adjusting, and maintaining parts and components to all types of heavy-duty equipment such as engine, transmissions, drive, hydraulic systems, and braking systems. Tasks are performed on a variety of gasoline, diesel, and propane (LPG) powered equipment.
- Read and comprehend repair manuals, service bulletins, schematics, verbal, and written instructions as well as utilize personal computers and laptop computers.
- Prioritize work, schedules work, orders and picks up all parts and determines appropriate place for repair.
- Manage time effectively to maximize productivity, customer service, and to mitigate equipment downtime.
- Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment modification.
- Perform equipment inspections and operational tests on equipment to determine if equipment is operating within the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Conducting post-repair inspections of equipment, including repairs completed by vendors, prior to returning it to service to ensure repairs have been finished completely, properly, cost-effectively, and that the equipment is safe to be put into operation.
- Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance records for fleet equipment.
- Participate in crew activities, such as monthly meetings, safety committees, and group decisions.
Qualifications, Required & Requested Skills
- Three years of experience as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Journeyman is defined as fully proficient level of work. An employee at this level should be able to carry out most work assignments with a minimal degree of supervision.
- You must possess and maintain a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL-A) and DOT medical certificate.
- Must understand and have experience with excavators, dozers, forklifts, manlifts and other construction equipment.
- Must be self-reliant and able to schedule workload and self-monitor production.

Construction Project Manager
The Construction Project Manager position is responsible for the leadership and overall success of the project from start to finish. This position champions the company’s core values and leads their team proactively to accomplish project and company goals. This position represents the firm professionally with clients, consultants and subcontractors on all project related matters. The Construction Project Manager may also assist or lead business development efforts and estimating for future project backlog.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading, overseeing, and coordinating all aspects and phases of the project.
- Responsible for monthly project financial forecast reporting, and owner billings.
- Ability to forecast and mitigate risk, managing company’s exposure.
- Review and negotiate owner contracts, subcontracts, and proposals.
- Responsible for forecasting project staffing needs for self-perform work.
- Develop and maintain CPM schedule and lead construction operations to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, and project QA/QC.
- Evaluate progress and prepares executive project reports for company and owner groups.
- Assist in permitting processes per specific project needs.
- Leads project constructability reviews/plan checks, and associated documentation.
- Responsible for procurement and awarding of subcontracts.
- Contract administration, periodic onsite observations of work, and monitoring of drawing compliance.
- Responsible for the project close-out process.
Qualifications:

Civil Project Manager
Faber Construction is seeking a Civil Project Manager in our Lynden Office. Our company provides site work services for an array of commercial and residential projects for both the public and private markets. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, able to problem solve, work collaboratively and autonomously. This position reports to a Division Manager. Preferred candidate will have a proven track record of estimating and managing successful Public Works Projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Preconstruction services & estimating
- Plan, organize and manage materials, equipment and subcontractors
- Establish project objectives, schedules, policies, procedures and performance standards in accordance with company objectives
- Monthly tracking of profit and loss on all jobs
- Handle all correspondence with Owner and Subcontractors
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget

- Responsible for aggressively managing site operations to include subcontractors and self-perform grading and structure work

Civil Laborer
Faber Construction is looking for a full-time Civil Construction Laborer for our Lynden office. This position requires a lot of physical labor and stamina.

Yard Attendant
Faber Construction is seeking a Yard Attendant. This position includes working with the Equipment/Yard Manager to keep the Construction Yard and all job supplies and support equipment cleaned, sorted, inventoried, and organized.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Construction yard maintenance and organization.
- Construction supplies and equipment inventory organization.
- Yard and driveway maintenance.
- Construction warehouse organization and cleaning.
- Construction inventory pick and place.
- Parts running.
- Jobsite deliveries.
- Job supplies and support equipment check in process.
- Remove all trash and keep the yard neat.
- Ensures that all job supplies, and support equipment are in their appropriate spots.

Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s license.

Truck Driver
Faber Construction is looking for a Truck Driver to join the team. Driver will operate a variety of vehicles to move equipment or job supplies to and from jobsites. Will complete trash runs from construction yard and jobsites using a swap loader with dumpsters, or pickup with a dump trailer. Will also operate more specialized vehicles, Vac truck, Water truck, etc. when needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Transporting equipment and job supplies to and from specified locations.
- Operating specialized vehicles, and a variety of equipment.
- Verifying the equipment or materials being transported do not exceed weight restrictions.
- Ensuring that the materials or machinery are loaded correctly onto vehicle.
- Inspecting any vehicles driven before and after every trip, which includes checking the oil, gas and water levels as well as the lights and tires.
- Promptly reporting any accidents, injuries, or mechanical faults to management.
- Performing regular maintenance to ensure that vehicles are in good working order.
- Complying with all safety rules and regulations.
- Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt decks on trailers or flat deck trucks.
- Responsible for the condition of their vehicle. For example, keeps truck clean and in good working order.
- Accurately enters time into timekeeping software.
- Operates vehicles in safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, in the yard area and at various job sites to deliver materials and/or machinery. Trucks driven include but are not limited to tilt deck flatbed truck, swap loader, and pickups or semi-tractor truck with attached trailers.
- Attaches and removes tilt/transport trailers to truck as needed.
- Keeps accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for billing.
- Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle.
- Unrolls truck tarp to cover loads when required.
- Assure product quality to the best of the Driver’s ability.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor.
- Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions.
- Must keep vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Construction Superintendent
Faber Construction’s Everett Office is looking for a Construction Superintendent to join the team! A Superintendent performs complex supervisory, administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, directing and supervising job sites.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow
• Issue written and verbal instructions
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Study and standardize department policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations
• Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances
• Prepare composite reports from individual reports of subordinates
• Adjust errors and complaints accordingly and calmly
• Prepare and document budget requests; administer budget in assigned area of responsibility
• Plan, organize, coordinate, supervise and evaluate programs, plans, services, staffing, equipment and infrastructure on job sites.
• Evaluate job needs and formulate short and long-range plans to meet needs in all areas of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain a safety program that follows L and I requirements. Manage Subcontractor safety orientation, weekly walk throughs, and safety meetings
• File Daily reports and document the site activity daily electronically and with pictures.
• Create and maintain short and long term schedules. (3 week and Job duration schedules)
• Review subtrade list and provide e-mail short term schedules to subtrades. Ensure subtrades are contacted ahead of work to be performed and daily to maintain the schedule as needed.
• Review schedule and plans for upcoming jurisdictional or design team inspections. Call for inspections in a timely manner so as not to impede job progress or scheduled activities.
• Establish a quality control plan. Walk the job site to recognize defects. Document and report defects to the applicable parties as needed.
• Fill out and submit Extra work Authorization forms daily and document as needed.
• Maintain site Erosion Control. Establish an erosion control plan and follow all SWPP rules as needed.
• Maintain Record Document plans and specifications. Produce As-built drawings as needed.
• Review Staffing needs. Look at schedule and tasks to perform and plan for manpower needs as needed.
(Coordinate with the Senior Superintendent)
• Review Documentation such as RFI’s, CCD’s, ASI’s, and other job directives as needed. Plan, Distribute, and execute direction given by the design team in cooperation with the Project manager.
• Weekly review the budget. See how labor and materials are tracking. Coordinate information with the Project manager.
• Prepare for job meeting by having intimate knowledge of the plans and specifications, by being well versed in the current site activities, and complete understanding off the 3 week schedule.
• Total involvement with training and development of field personnel as assigned
• Supervise employees on a day-to-day basis on specific projects
Required Education:
• High school diploma and bachelor’s Degree in construction or engineering preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a construction superintendent
• Proficient with Excel/MS Office, Adobe, Blue Beam, and MS Project
• Excellent communications and customer relations
Preferred Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of projects
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must be willing to travel/commute
• Ability to read blueprints, reference truss calculations, specifications, and understand structural details
