At Faber, we don’t build for awards—we build to strengthen local communities, economies, and infrastructure. But when our work gets recognized, it’s a great feeling! This year, we took home four AGC Build Washington Awards for construction excellence, including a win for the Sedro-Woolley Wastewater Facility in the Public Building $5M - $20M category.
About the Sedro-Woolley Wastewater Facility Project
This project included a 3,600 SF wastewater treatment lab and a 9,300 SF two-story public works fleet operations building on a five-acre site.
We self-performed the civil construction, which involved: Demolition of an existing shop building, right-of-way (R.O.W.) improvements, landscaping and site development, and utility infrastructure.
Later in the project, we tackled an alternate package, grading two acres and preparing a building pad with crushed rock for a future county maintenance shop.
The vertical construction featured: Concrete foundations & slab-on-grade, wood-framed construction, metal roofing & siding, aluminum-framed windows, and CMU block wainscot veneer.
Built for Growth & Sustainability
This facility supports Sedro-Woolley’s growth by modernizing infrastructure to prevent system overloads and ensure clean water for the community. The upgraded lab enhances water quality testing, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and protecting residents from contamination risks.
Beyond community benefits, this project prioritizes sustainability with: Cleaner waterways through improved wastewater management, better stormwater & flood control, energy-efficient design, future-ready infrastructure for county expansion.
A Team Effort
We’re incredibly proud of our team’s hard work and dedication on this project. Huge thanks to the City of Sedro-Woolley and Carletti Architects for their collaboration and teamwork throughout construction—it was a pleasure working together!
